Extensions of the Skin

Our clothing choices can often paint a surface-deep {or further} picture of our personality, our lifestyle, our feelings, etc. The articles of clothing we place upon our bodies is very much an extension of the skin in a sort, a visual projector onto the world. This even applies to uniforms, no matter how we may enjoy or loathe them - it connects us to our schoolmates, coworkers, fellow businessmen {or -women}, brothers {or sisters} in arms, etc.

A bold cat eye seems to become my special little uniform for days I wish to be productive. Paired with a bold lippy, and my little transformation from a blah day to a fabulous, accomplished day is complete.

When you feel like yourself, motivation goes up!

If we are only granted a finite number of days on this earth, why not feel comfortable in the clothes we place upon our backs? Take advantage of the circumstances which allow free dress - or check out a nude beach or nudest community if you'd rather not wear anything at all.

Love the skin you're in, but also the materials you put your skin in.

Lovely Friday

It is raining today....absolutely pouring....I love this gloomy weather. There's a glimmer of the sun peeking out. Standing alone in the storm, reminded of how far I've come, the smell of the rain....perfectly lovely.

Until my shoes become soaked. Gross feeling.

Favorites of this week:

My lovely nephew, Ranger! He's such a sweet ferret and how I miss him so...I have a total soft spot for animals. I often have more confidence in them than I do for mankind.

Missing being Daddy's little girl...and wondering why I'm wearing so much pink.

This is what happens when one combines nachos, friends, and SnapChat....I'm not normally a big nacho fan, but those C-Store nachos are absolutely DELISH.

Yes, I wore a bow in my hair.

Ahhhhhhhhh man! Tuesday was Dutchmen Day! Annual tradition at LVC where classes are cancelled and we're woken up at 6:30 to run around and find where the shirt tables are, standing in our respective dorm/house line, vying for a shirt! And then it's fun fun fun! Inflatables, activities, and yes, I did homework.

Ouch....inflatable burn. It's not nearly as bad as last year. Last year I went hardcore in those inflatable races and was badly skinned up.

Yesterday I had a presentation on expanding Louis Vuitton market share in Chinese markets and had to dress business casual. I felt pretty fly in this outfit. I would have loved heels but I did not have ones that looked right....and I tripped on a flat surface wearing flat shoes and rolled my ankle so it's not in the best of shape for heels....

 

Enjoying the rain! ....and my, just look at that CANKLE! Poor little ankle still swollen and bruised. I wish Santa would send me that bubble for Xmas. I've been asking for one for a few years now....

 

This weekend is going to be fun :) tonight's agenda: homework. Tomorrow: Washington, D.C. and the spy museum!! Sunday: homework....

 

Bugger. Enjoy your weekend! Don't trip on flat surfaces! ...or at least have someone to catch you. At this rate, I'm surprised I don't have a personal catcher...

Hello, hello! No, I'm not buried in the backyard...goodness, it's been over a week. I'm sorry it's been so long! I had every intention of doing a finals' week favorites...eh that seems rather much like an oxymoron. But Mummy sent goodies for finals!! Fat chex and hot chocolate mix nom nom nom

I made it home Saturday afternoon and saw Lovely for a short time while we ate buffalo chicken dip with a TON of hot sauce, just the way I like it...then he had to go to work :/  on the brightside, I went to my Grammie's house and visited with her and my Sissy :)

Hmmm I do have some outfit pics somewhere...."somewhere" being wherever my camera is....

I do have a few rather lovely pics to share on my phone, though.

I'm off to snuggle in bed with Yoda, Chewie, and my stuffed cat and hippo. It's always a party of stuffed friends in my bed when I'm home. Curling up to Anna Karinina on my Kindle....

 

 

Mean Girls

On Wednesdays I don't wear pants. I wear a skirt or dress. Creating special days for the average week gives you something to which to look forward :)

More like sleeeepy Saturday. I was still productive, however.

Formal was great!

The theme was international affairs, perfect for an international business major ;) Lovely and I had a retro look...bowties are awesome alternatives to long ties! Don't forget the ruby lips and pinning your hair to the side ;) complete with red nails.

Friday Favorites of this hectic week

The last full week beore Thanksgiving vacation is over! A few papers, miscellaneous hw assignments, 5 classes, and a marketing midterm stand before me and leaving....I'm anxious to get home. And see my bedroom.

Dear mummy, I'm sorry if it's dusty, but I don't exactly live there for most of the year...

Onto the favorites:

• Highlighting Monday's post again because I absolutely love this dress! ...except the fact that it's handwash only. How annoying -_-

• Tuesday! I have a mutual disdain with Tuesday.....but this hi-lo shirt was pretty sweet. New find from AE. I feel like such a failure...I keep finding things I like at AE and it's not generally a place I would consider of great style/fashion since it's what the general mass buys.

• Hump day! Favorite day of the week! As well as this little jacket from H&M. It has a heart print and is super cute and fun! It's a favorite layering staple.

• Favorite new hair accessory: braid! New do: upside-down braid!

• Oh, and today's outfit for shits and giggles.

Ripped my tights today. Was not amused. Oh well...tights live on, holes and all.

Goodness, I sound like such a brat, but Thanksgiving just isn't my favorite holiday....Halloween is fun with its candy and historic background. Thanksgiving is barbaric to turkeys.

However, this year I'm thankful for my Mummy's soothing conversations and sanity-keeping skills. That woman is patient and I love her to pieces.
