Happiness: Not as rare as a Magikarp

Like most fads, PokémonGo seems to slowly be running its course, the hype nearly depleted as players continue to play in silence, halfheartedly.

Admittedly, I'm still seeking to fill my Pokédex - again, halfheartedly.

The cycle of a fad is much like any grandiose change in lifestyles - old habits are not easily forgotten and the new take 21 days to truly sink in. While one can't magically make it a habit after hurling over that 3-week threshold, by then it has begun to become ingrained into the mind as a new habit, hopefully offsetting and taking place of the former.

Little changes are the best way to seek big improvement. Small, seemingly menial twists on the mindset dial can lead to bigger and better {as cliché as that sounds} things.

On a happy, happy note:

Seeing friends is well worth every second of insanity and squeezing in as much homework and work so I can truly enjoy the company of lovely people.

Paradrei kicked butt once again at the Angel's Rock Bar in Baltimore and mini reunion with the ever so lovely Anna!

Free tacos, great friends, good ol' rock 'n' roll : why we need that work/life balance.

Extensions of the Skin

Our clothing choices can often paint a surface-deep {or further} picture of our personality, our lifestyle, our feelings, etc. The articles of clothing we place upon our bodies is very much an extension of the skin in a sort, a visual projector onto the world. This even applies to uniforms, no matter how we may enjoy or loathe them - it connects us to our schoolmates, coworkers, fellow businessmen {or -women}, brothers {or sisters} in arms, etc.

A bold cat eye seems to become my special little uniform for days I wish to be productive. Paired with a bold lippy, and my little transformation from a blah day to a fabulous, accomplished day is complete.

When you feel like yourself, motivation goes up!

If we are only granted a finite number of days on this earth, why not feel comfortable in the clothes we place upon our backs? Take advantage of the circumstances which allow free dress - or check out a nude beach or nudest community if you'd rather not wear anything at all.

Love the skin you're in, but also the materials you put your skin in.

Fangirl

The Titans are back in town are tearing up a storm.

Thank goodness I have a great team at work which meant I was able to make sure they were set up for the rest of the shift and leave early to see Tree and the guys rock their talented asses up on stage.

I'm not really a rocker chick....I'd be an impostor {a terrible one at that} if I claimed to be...but these guys. Da-yum.

They put me into that groove and make me wanna shake my behind like I just don't care {which I don't, 99.99% of the time}.

It may also help that they're pretty badass, yet sweet, guys.

Jonny and his Beyoncé fan - may I have one to just follow me around wherever I go so I'm always ready for a photo op??

....not that I have many opportunities for a decent photo, but I just might if I had a fan holder following me around, or one that floating around on a droid.

{Xmas ideas, people. Never too early.}

Lovely Benjamin was pantsed and it was fantastic.

Rock 'n' Roll, bitches.

....yeah, I'll stop.

Jonny's sister is pretty rad!

I decided to rock my new Pikachu shirt - major props from many people for repping one of the brattiest Pokémon ever.

Perhaps my younger readers may not get the reference - play Yellow Version and you'll see just what a little stubborn fuck insolent asshole cheeky fellow this guy is. Hmm that may be his appeal, too.

The dude's an icon and a symbol of my childhood. My inner 10yo self was cheering and doing backflops {let's be real, I can't do backflips} inside.

No matter what type of music you enjoy, I highly recommend seeing a few of your bands in person {if at all possible}. That experience....seeing them play IRL is such a magical moment, whether you're seeing them for the first time or 20th, in a large arena or private venue..

Support live music and enjoy all of the feels.

Favorite Friday

Dyslexic title.

Pikabagging

Yay! Dancing Pikachu!

Have a lovely weekend, readers.

I'm enjoying my last few days before break is over...yes, Gen6 has been announced in conjunction with the upcoming October release of Pokémon X and Y. How dumb are those names, by the way?! I'm not really feeling this....the last generation of Pokémon was terrible. An ice cream cone is NOT a Pokémon.

Oh, Pokémon, you made my childhood bright.

Batman and Robin

Woo! Lovely was seen with me in public tonight! As well as friends from work! I'm not such an anti-social loser after all :P  .....altho it is Thursday and i need to enter the bug-catching contest and win a few Pokéathlon contests so as to earn some 'stones for evolutions. Kurtis the Eevee will not become a Jolteon on its own for Peter Peter Pumpkin-Eater's sake.

I'm a bit hyper after tonight.....cookie dough custard artic swirl thing from Meadows for my dinner [Mummy offered, but i wasn't all that hungry for dinner and dessert before the movie...]. I'm surprised Mum let me eat just that.

*cry* I'm becoming a big kid now!!

Ok, ok...tonight's outfit:

Eyebrow makeover....they look a bit anorexic to me...but for now, i'll try to rock them.

Wooooooooo! First place in the first event of the Power contest! Go Team Jillian!

Oh, and we saw The Dark Knight Rises tonight :)

Hmmm great movie, terrible tragedy in Colorado, kudos to Christian Bale for visiting the victims. Must....hurry.....

Luckily i had my very own personal comic encyclopedia next to me...i'm really into the superheroes and such but i'm by no means an expert, i.e. Lovely.

Eevee

pokémon - If This Doesn't Work, He'll Never Love You
see more Pokememes

I love this sight....this is funny because i'm currently trying to hatch a batch of Eevees in order to obtain all of the evolutions.

"Don't knock it 'til you try it."

.....mac'n'cheese with fresh cut garden tomatoes. Mmmmmm my mummy made some this weekend so that shall be my lunch tomorrow. Cold. Absolutely delish.

The dinner of champions: cold spaghetti-o's straight out of the can. I swear i'm civilized....simply wish to be more efficient with resources...water for dishes, electricity from microwave/stove....and time saved having to do all those things! And they taste pretty dang good that way.

So....my bum survived the multiple hours in the car and i managed to not get carsick as i usually do! That is quite the feat. Dramamine is my best friend, albeit i [unsurprisingly] forgot to take some along with me.

I took Pokémon [Soul Silver, for those of you who know your Pokémon] in the car! Those damn Legendaries had me ragin' a little whilst i hunted them down relentlessly. Before, i could hardly care but for some reason....i felt the urge to capture them.

I've never been to Cedar Point, but it was soooo much fun! My calves are a bit sore from running around and i have a few bumps and bruises but that's all part of the fun. Naturally, we rode ALL of the coasters :D :D

And i caught a few stills of Lake Erie...so pretty:

Lovely. Looking BA as usual.

I'm not quite sure the reason for my fascination with taking Lovely's picture whilst he is driving....but isn't he darling? I think the weird song i was making up and singing made his lose his smile....i warned him in the lyrics that it was dumb.

Future European car!! oh-my-Giddeons. I get excited every time i see one....they are adorable and they can drive fast -_-  this one actually passed us and we were going....well, they were going much faster.

My poor burnt Nase....nose. Yes, i realize now that you can see a hint of skin through my shirt...but it's all in good taste. I had my swimsuit top underneath bc we were planning on going to the water park today but chose to drive home instead. Not complaining....i'm pooped.

Received that nice bruise from work. Oh, KB battle wounds....comes with the perks of working there.

JORDAN, STITCH IS WAITING FOR YOU.

Gotta Catch 'Em All!

.....no, not STDs [now known as STIs]. We're not prostitutes or crackheads.

Lovely and i are spending this Thursday night playing video games and enjoying beans&weiners later for dinner. Mum is also cooking mushrooms....mmmmmm they are delicious!

Have you ever worked in a warehouse/factory/Chinese sweatshop? ....ok, maybe that last one is a little inappropriate. But seriously, it is sweaty work. Today was scorching hott and all i want to do is bathe in the AC waves in the house. And play Pokémon and the Sims3. I wish i could fuse my Pokémon into The Sims. Wouldn't that be like the ultimate game?!

A girl can dream.....

Shopped out with my Ditto

Lovely and i are still avid Pokémon players [no judgment, please] and are on the way to filling our Pokédexes! I spent the better part of the carride to Altoona catching Ditto in FireRed....i caught 7 of them and not one had a jolly nature -_-  who knew there were so many different natural inclinations of personalities for Pokémon?? I guess i never really paid much attention to that....

Lovely looks so serious....perhaps the photobooth used up all his silliness. Photobooths are so much fun! They had them at school for special occasions and we used them multiple times...

Rockin' my new Gap jeans...I'm so Gap, Inc. with Gap sandals, Gap jeans, and Old Navy tank. Thrown off slightly by Pikachu necklace. I am a rebel after all [laughing at my lame little joke].

Time for some brekkie.....leftover Mexican from our date last night! Lovely and i were absolutely stuffed and had to get the rest to go. Need to finish cleaning my room as well...a project that's yet to be accomplished oops. Why must i be productive today? meh.

I just want to snuggle with the cool kids on my bed....ladybug, bunny, cow, Yoda, hippo, cat, and a Wookie. Perhaps i have a few too many stuffed animals on my bed. nbd.

Lemme buy you a drink

Not sure why the lyrics of that song popped into my head...

Wanted to write up a lovel-E Mother's Day post on Sunday but i found myself spending time with lovel-E mothers and Lovely so did not make it online...Mummy wouldn't take up the offer of me cooking for her [i'm really not sure why since i can't actually cook!] so we went out for Chinese since she loves it so much.

I visited with my Grammie for a while and caught up with her and Pap Pap. Not a very seemingly over-exciting day, i know, but when you spend it with loved ones, that's how that really matters.

top: vintage; belt: Candie's; skirt: Maz Azria; earrings: NYC street vendor; purse: thrifted; sneakers: Steve Madden

Bared a little skin today....nothing wrong with that. This top is part of a matching skirt/top set that was my Nana's. How schweet is that?

Here's a close-up of the shirt Lovely made for me. I love me some Pokémon, especially Dragonite! The whole evolution line is awesome....Dratini and Dragonair are so graceful and then Dragonite comes out, majestic and strong as butt as dragons usually are. Look at me, how poetic about Pokémon...

tank: AE; skirt: Nollie; belt: vintage

Yesterday we went shopping....simple yet more dressed up than shorts and a tee. The general notion of shopping is correct: if you feel good, you'll have a good time. Paired this with Louis [my Louis Vuitton purse] and gold Mossimo gladiator sandals from two years ago. Simple pimple.

Despite the rain, it was a pretty great day. We sold some clothes to Plato's Closet then did a little shopping at the mall. Ladies, you know he's a keeper when he brings the car to you at the mall door and opens your door with an umbrella so you don't get soaked from the rain.

I may have to chop my leg off. Dang bug bites. It's only May and i'm already bug food! Off to bed now....red streaks from scratching too dang hard. . . .
