Halloweenies on Halloween

Perhaps it's due to my being born on trick-or-treat night, but I quite love Halloween. To me, the whole month of October is Halloween, and November is simply Halloween hangover month until Thanksgiving, during which no one shaves, followed by December aka avoid everything Xmas-y until the 24th.

Priorities. Obviously.

Halloween über alles.

The long train rides took me back to the shady Harrisburg station, and I even made an acquaintance! A lovely person named Kevin kept me company as we traversed the whole way from Nashville, TN with same destination in mind.

We rolled up to Harrisburg at the ass crack of dawn promptly 10:13AM, where we were shortly accosted bombarded by a drunk man who insisted we were both "pretty," but that I was "prettier and [he] liked me better because [I'm] a girl." eeeeek

No matter, no matter....Kevin and I parted ways as I dodged bushes and eventually the cars in the green-lighted streets to make my way to the Small Town Titans' bus waiting for me in the parking lot in which they found themselves after trying to find the pick-up zone of the Greyhound station.

By that point, I was quite elated to be walking again and relieved to see friendly, non-threatening faces and swiftly caught up with some of my adventurous stories before curly up on their futon as they delivered the rest of their crowd-funding bundles.

Before I knew it, we were at Ben's house for {yucky} coffee - only yucky because the smell alone makes me feel queasy - and off to Hagerstown, MD for their Halloween show.

While I haven't the photos to prove it, my eyeliner looked quite bangin' despite applying on the bumpy band bus.

Several bands opened for the night and my buddy Nolan Neal was there as well. *insert giddy girl dance as he remembered me*

He did not disappoint, albeit his set was a bit drawn out: quite loquacious onstage for his set...

STT put on a great show and stayed in character with {aside from the actual playing and singing part} as the Trailer Park Boys, a trio from a Canadian trailer park in a show bearing the same namesake.

Seemed quite appropriate they would embody a group of shenanigan-causing misfits as they wreak havoc on stage their mad skillz. {Yes, with a 'z.'}

All in all, good way to end the solo birthday adventure before I was taken home...quite sad to say goodbye to these three goofs as they head back out on the road just as I was getting back.

Kick ass and leave your marks wherever you go, guys!

Oh, and kidnap me for a leg or two while you're at it...

It's my party & I'll cry if I want to

Luckily, no tears had no sad tears shed.

I kickstarted my birthday with a concert to see the beautiful and talented Christina Perri!! Having bought the tickets months ago, I was very much looking forward to this evening. Some girls buy themselves flowers, chocolates, a trip to the spa...this big girl bought herself a ticket to see some singing babes and a nice beer along with it.

In the lineup was MKTO and Bea Miller. Demi Lovato closed the show. It was okay. Demi rocked and we were total twinsies with our colored hair, but Christina stole the show.

I have decided to begin learning Swedish do to this hunky Swedish native, but it has proven quite difficult. With no more True Blood, where shall I get my vampire fix?? Obviously Twilight won't do for these sophisticated raging hormones (ha!). In all seriousness, I would love to speak Swedish to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in its original tongue and visit the beautiful country.

I rang in my birthday at midnight by watching True Blood. No regrets. The opening song along is enough to entice me.

Calories don't count on one's birthday

Halloween is my favorite holiday, along with any at incorporate a lot of food. Tree and I went as Katy Perry and Kitty Perry. Katy and Russell Brand broke it off quite some time ago, so that would be awkward to go as the duo....and also Lovely and I had done that couple's costume when I was 18 - almost symbolic, no?

I may also be partial to Halloween as it is near my birthday. Trick-or-Treat baby for the win! Good night spent with some good people ^_^

Last semester of undergraduate studies going fairly well. A few hiccups, but that's life. One needs a little rain to make a rainbow.

Happy reunion with Jules at her Renaissance Faire gig!

Last activities fair for last ValleyFest year
Things are changing, as life goes, but we're all going to be A-o-freakin-kay.

Final Friday Favorites of 2012

Tis Friday at last....although I haven't much about which to complain; it's been a fairly smooth week without conventional work. Just busy busy busy with the holidays and shoveling. I honestly love shoveling. It's a great workout and for somre reason, I just like doing it.....strange.
It's the last Friday of 2012 [as indicated by the post title] and only a few days until the new year....what will you be doing for New Year's Eve?? How 'bout watching the movie? Fun movie, along with Valentine's Day [even though I don't celebrate that terribly commercialized holiday but enough on that].

Hmmm...perhaps it should be the favorites of the year:

  • Going to the beach with Lovely

  • My sissy being with me all the way
Xmas 2012 Photo by Mummy

    • Lady A, Darius Rucker, and Thompson Square concert!

  • Being accepted into the Kingston University in London for study abroad
Cheesy American stereotypical London pic c/o Google images
  • Beautiful Tiffany's ring from my Nana

  • Alumni band
  • All-American Rejects and A Rocket to the Moon concert

  • Valleyfest!

  • Discovering Tard the grumpy cat

  • Not to appear self-centered, but my birthday makes the list despite the raging storm on that day. Being surrounded by friends, what could be a better way of spending the day indoors?

  • Horseback riding tour in Gettysburg

  • Riding a camel at the Philly Zoo

  • NeverShoutNever concert

  • The other concerts with Lovely...Warped Tour in Buffalo, The Band Perry, Hot Chelle Rae

  • Winter Formal 2012: An International Affair

  • Halloween time spent with Lovely

  • Chewbacca hat!

I felt so modern with my outfit yesterday....Mia2 boots [gift from Nana for 19th bday], PacSun tights [gift from Lovely], H&M skirt, Express sweater [gift from Sissy], handmade bracelet [gift from Mum], Tiffany's ring [gift from Nana], and Chewie hat [gift from Lovely].

Tonight my bestie and I are totally geeking out by having a sleepover, exchanging prezzies, and having a LOTR trilogy marathon! Woot woot! Let the nostalgia begin with the Heidi and Jill sleepover traditions :)

I believe one is never too old for sleepovers with one's bestie.

Now...debating on whether or not I should get out of bed yet....

Happy Halloween!

As Halloween comes to a close, I hope you enjoyed this one!

Today we quoted movies in German. "Boo, you whore."

Well, two of the four groups presented their movie projects....we took a scene from a movie and translated and adapted our own German version of it. My partner and I did a scene from The Wizard of Oz. The other did a montague of clips from Mean Girls. We tried explaining some of the scenes to our prof, who had never seen the movie....didn't go so well.

"On Wednesdays we wear pink."

Attempt at being a hazy Halloween creep.

My lovel-E friends made this GIANT birthday card for me!! And LOOK! That's me in the top right corner! Haha my friend Haivy has a sweet modern instant-pix camera from Nikon...?

:)

Here's to the new month....November! Woo! Fresh pair of contacts on the first of every month! ....ok, now that you know my hygienic routines...

Have a lovely start of November and continuation of fall....it's becoming chilly but that just means more layers and layers and layers!
